Dr. Larry J. Schmid started River Pines Dental in 2004, after 25 years of working with Dr. Robert Gahnz in downtown Hastings. Dr. Schmid earned his DDS degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association and the Dakota County Dental Association. Dr. Schmid stays up-to-speed with current and upcoming dental practices and technology through continuing education, including three years of training with the Twin Cities Implant Society.

Dr. Schmid and his wife, Brenda, are long-time residents of Hastings, and Dr. Schmid is active in the community as a member of the Hastings Chamber of Commerce, Hastings Volleyball League and the Hastings Fishing Club. He also actively supports and promotes the new Hastings YMCA. Dr. Schmid has also been a member of the local Kiwanis and Jaycees.
