Dr. Larry J. Schmid

35 years of experience in family dentistry, Dr. Larry J. Schmid enjoys working with patients of all ages, helping them to maintain healthy teeth for beautiful, long-lasting smiles.

Dr. Larry J. Schmid started River Pines Dental in 2004, after 25 years of working with Dr. Robert Gahnz in downtown Hastings. Dr. Schmid earned his DDS degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association and the Dakota County Dental Association. Dr. Schmid stays up-to-date with current and upcoming dental practices and technology through continuing education, including four years of training with the Twin Cities Implant Society.

Dr. P. Christopher Johnston

A member of the River Pines Dental team since 2004, Dr. P. Christopher Johnston believes in providing his patients the highest quality dental care in a stress-free environment.

Dr. P. Christopher Johnston enjoys the interaction and communication with his patients, and encourages them to take an active role in their oral health. Dr. Johnston earned his DDS degree from Marquette University's School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry and the Minnesota Dental Association. Dr. Johnston is currently enrolled at the U of M’s postgraduate program in contemporary esthetics. He has had extensive training in esthetics.

Dr. Johnston lives in Hastings with his wife, Maria, son Bailey and daughter Chloe. Dr. Johnston supports the local community, and is on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Hastings.
